Limerick County Council has set up a helpline for all those suffering disruption to their water supply.

Around 1,500 households in parts of West Limerick have had their water supply restricted after oil from a commercial property leaked into the River Deel last Thursday.

The council said that water restrictions will remain in place until early next week as efforts continue to deal with the contamination.

Tankers of water are being provided, but people are being advised to boil the water taken from the tankers before use.
