The search for the fishermen missing off West Cork is set to resume for a fourth day, with an improvement in weather conditions being forecast for the search area.

The men, two from Ireland and three from Egypt, are believed to have drowned when the Tit Bonhomme sank close to its home port of Union Hall on Sunday.

Heavy sea swells have prevented navy divers from accessing the wreck to assess whether any of the missing men may have been trapped on board.

Gerald O'Flynn, who is coordinating the recovery operation for the Irish Coastguard, said a change in wind direction may allow them access today.
