Clare man dies in France crash
An Irishman has died and another man remains in a serious condition following a road crash in France.
Forty-year-old Ian Corcoran from Kilrush, Co Clare was killed in the single-vehicle accident in the French Alps in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Another man, aged 29 and also thought to be Irish, was thrown from the car after it left the road and hit a tree near Samoëns.
He is said to be in a serious condition in a hospital.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that consular assistance is being provided to both families.
It is understood that both men were working locally.
