TD reassures credit union customers over deposits
A Fine Gael Kildare TD is reassuring Newbridge Credit Union customers that their money is safe, after a Central Bank special manager was appointed to run the branch.
The High Court made the decision, after concerns were raised about the institution's financial position.
An interim report on trading conditions and the workings of Newbridge Credit Union is expected to be completed within the next four weeks.
But Kildare South TD Martin Heydon has said it is too early to say whether a decision will be taken to close the branch.
