Hundreds march in support of Vita Cortex workers

More than 400 people have held a protest match in Cork today in support of the former Vita Cortex workers.

Up to 32 members of staff at the foam packaging plant have been staging a sit-in at the company's building since December 16, in protest over their redundancy payments.

The rally was organised by the Cork Council of Trade Unions and was attended by the workers, as well as family members, supporters and local politicians.

Employee representatives are due to begin talks with management at the Labour Relations Commission next Tuesday.
