Spate of Belfast car hijackings continues

A spate of car hijacking incidents in Belfast continued when a man attempted to drag a woman from her vehicle.

Last night’s attack in the Grosvenor Road area was the seventh in the city in less than two weeks.

At around 9pm the man tried to pull the female driver from her car. When she refused to get out he took property from the rear of the vehicle and made off.

The woman escaped uninjured.

The man was described as being in his early 20s wearing a dark hooded top with a light scarf over his face. He also wore jeans and white trainers.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
