Workers end sit-in at La Senza

The La Senza sit-in has come to an end following discussions between the Mandate Trade Union and the administrators KPMG.

Staff from the lingerie chain's outlets around the country began their demonstration at the Liffey Valley store in Dublin last Monday when they were made redundant.

The terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.

Michael Meegan of Mandate Trade Union said: "At 4.30 this evening Mandate Trade Union received a letter from La Senza’s administrators KPMG.

At a meeting after 5pm, the contents of this letter were communicated to the La Senza workers and they were satisfied with what KPMG had to say and then decided to end their sit-in."

Mr Meegan said that the situation at La Senza shows how important it is for workers to join a union and work together to achieve a just outcome for themselves and their families.
