EMC advises CAO applicants to choose ICT courses

CAO applicants are being advised to choose high-tech college courses.

US multinational EMC - which is involved in this year's BT Young Scientist Exhibition at the RDS in Dublin - is signalling the areas of cloud computing, big data and security for growth.

EMC employes 2,500 people in Ireland, the majority of whom are at its centre of excellence in Cork.

The company is urging students to choose ICT courses because it is predicting the global technology sector will expand dramatically over the next 10 years.
