Minister calls for greater urgency in implementing Croke Park Agreement
The Government has said that there needs to be a greater urgency in implementing the Croke Park Agreement.
Speaking at a breakfast briefing this morning, Minister of State for Public Service Reform Brian Hayes said the focus of the Government this year will be to maximise productivity of existing public sector staff.
Minister Hayes said changes to annual leave and sick leave, re-deployment and re-rostering, and allowances will be centre stage, and the implementation of the deal needs to be approached with greater urgency across the board.
He said that while some of the issues are being led centrally by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, local management now need to "show a level of ambition about the opportunities for change".
