A man being questioned about the death of an elderly man in Dublin at the weekend has been released without charge.

Edward Boylan, 74, was found dead at a retirement home at Ravensdale Close in Kimmage on Saturday afternoon, after emergency services were called to deal with a fire.

A 29-year-old man arrested early yesterday morning and taken to Crumlin Garda station for questioning has now been released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

The scene of the incident in Kimmage is still sealed off, and gardaí are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
