A 29-year-old man who has been held overnight in connection with the murder of a pensioner in Dublin must be either charged or released this morning.

Edward Boylan, 74, was found dead at a retirement home at Ravensdale Close in Kimmage on Saturday afternoon.

He is understood to have been stabbed to death with a sword.

His body was discovered by emergency services called to deal with a fire at the premises.

The man arrested yesterday morning is being questioned by gardaí in Crumlin.
