Walkers find skeletal remains in Dublin Mountains

Skeletal remains have been found by hill walkers in the Dublin Mountains.

The grim discovery was made at around midday today by a group in the Slieve na mBan Og area.

Gardaí in Tallaght are investigating the circumstances of the human remains.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination by forensic officers.

The Office of the State Pathologist has also been informed.

Gardaí said it is too early to link the remains with any missing person.
