Cost of NCT to rise by 10% next month

Motorists are facing a 10% hike in the NCT charge from next month.

From February 1 the cost of the National Car Test will be €55 instead of €50.

The test must be taken every two years on cars between four and ten years old, and annually on older cars.

The €28 fee for retests is unchanged.
