Drivers warned of black-ice danger

Drivers are being urged to be particularly careful on the roads today, after the Gardaí issued a black-ice warning.

The Balbriggan area of north county Dublin is said to be particularly dangerous.

Dublin Fire Brigade says there have been several crashes in the area, although none were serious.

AA roadwatch says there is severe black ice along the M1 Dublin/Belfast Road this morning, from Junction 4 Lissenhall to Junction 6 Balbriggan, and again further north between Junction 12 Dunleer and Junction 15 Castlebellingham.
