Driver killed in Waterford crash

One person has been killed in a two-car crash in Co Waterford. The man, who was a driver of one of the cars, was in his 70s.

The accident happened at about 2pm today at Gaultier Cross, in Dunmore East .

The road between Kilmacomb Cross and Leaperstown Cross is shut to traffic while forensic tests are carried out. Diversions are in place from Dunmore East by Killea or at Leaperstown Cross.

From the city, the diversion is at Kilmacomb Cross to Fairy Bush Cross and into Killea.

The crash brings to seven the number of people who have died on the country's roads in the last five days.
