The Government is to introduce legislation on the back of a High Court judgement in the case taken by the record label EMI against internet provider UPC.

In his judgement, Mr Justice Charleton said he was constrained by the wording of the Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 and could not grant an injunction to prevent copyright infringement against an Internet Service Provider.
