The Health Minister Dr James Reilly has approved and signed regulations compelling tobacco companies to include graphic photographs on their products here.

The Health Minister Dr James Reilly has approved and signed regulations compelling tobacco companies to include graphic photographs on their products here.

The photographs on the packaging will depict the negative health impacts associated with smoking.

Research in other countries has shown that the photographs combined with government health warnings can be effective deterrents.

All tobacco products placed on the market on or after February 1, 2013 must comply with the new regulations.
