Cork workforce protests over redundancy payments

Workers are continuing a sit-in at the Vita Cortex plant in Cork this afternoon.

Workers are continuing a sit-in at the Vita Cortex plant in Cork this afternoon.

A group of around 30 workers started the protest yesterday in a dispute over redundancy payments.

Twenty-seven of them are members of the trade union SIPTU.

Local SIPTU representative, Anne Egar, said the workers are determined to stay put until they get their redundancy payments.
