Limerick gardaí arrest pensioner after gun find

A man in his 70s has been arrested by gardaí in Limerick following the discovery of a gun and ammunition in the city.

The firearm and ammunition were recovered by gardaí at a house in Sean Heuston Place at around 7.15am today.

Gardaí received a call to go the house after an alleged dispute arose between some of the occupants.

The man arrested is being detained at Henry Street garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
