Auction house to hold sale in aid of Dublin's Christ Church

A midlands auction house will hold a sale today to raise money for Christ Church, in Dublin.

A midlands auction house will hold a sale today to raise money for Christ Church, in Dublin.

The Cathedral is 1,000 years old and in need of repair and restoration works. The most urgent concern is for the tower, which houses 19 bells.

Sheppards in Durrow, Co Laois is holding an auction this afternoon, that will be carried globally via www.sheppards.ie

All proceeds will go towards the conservation of the tower.

Speaking to Midlands 103, Philip Sheppard said a number of pieces would be going under the hammer, including period furniture, Irish artworks and a painting from Michael Flatley.
