The €100 euro levy was introduced in the recent Budget, but is facing stiff opposition.

A campaign to boycott the charge is being launched this morning.

Socialist Party TDs Clare Daly and Joe Higgins; Seamus Healy, Richard Boyd Barrett and Joan Collins of the United Left Alliance; and Independent TDs Thomas Pringle, Mick Wallace, John Halligan and Luke 'Ming' Flanagan are all supporting the campaign.
