Healy Rae released from hospital

Independent Deputy Michael Healy Rae has been released from hospital after he took ill in Leinster House yesterday.

The Kerry South TD was rushed to hospital after he collapsed during a debate on the Social Welfare Bill.

He was initially treated by Health Minister Dr James Reilly.

Kerry Councillor Danny Healy-Rae said that although he does not know exactly what was wrong with his brother, it seems to have been nothing serious.

"There's nothing wrong with his heart, and they have him checked out for a lot of other things and there's nothing acute the matter," he said.

"As I understand it, because I was talking to him at three o'clock when he was along the road coming down from Dublin, he must be at home by now.
