Dublin City Council has said it cannot confirm whether cold weather caused the death of a homeless man found dead in the city this morning.

The body of the Latvian national was discovered in a green area of Dominick Street flats this morning.

The Dublin Region Homeless Executive said it has had a cold weather response plan in place since November and that there is enough emergency accommodation in place for those in need.

They have called on people to contact their emergency helpline on 1800 707 707.
