Dublin: 25-year-old man shot in Blanchardstown
A 25-year-old man was shot in broad daylight today while he sat in his car in Blanchardstown, Dublin.
Gardaí in Leixlip, Co Kildare are investigating the incident in Kilcock, Co Kildare, which took place between 11.45am and 12 noon today.
The man was sitting in his car at Brayton Park, Kilcock when he was shot. He was taken to Blanchardstown hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
A dark-coloured car was found burnt out at Courtown Wood, Kilcock about 1km from the scene of the shooting.
Gardaí are also looking for information regarding a dark grey-coloured which was also found abandoned on the M4 Celbridge interchange on the slip road heading eastbound towards Dublin city.
The Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have seen unusual or suspicious activity in the Brayton wood area before or after the time of the shooting.
