GOAL board expresses support for chief executive O'Shea

The board of the Irish charity GOAL has its pledged "full confidence and support" to the chief executive John O'Shea.

A statement from the board today follows the resignation of Fran Rooney as a director of GOAL after less than four months in the job.

The former FAI chief has blamed corporate management issues at the organisation for his resignation.

GOAL today said the organisation operates to the highest international standards and has its own audit committee which is comprised of qualified independent professionals.
