Man arrested in connection with misappropriation of funds at post office

Gardaí investigating the misappropriation of funds at Gorey Post Office in Wexford have made an arrest.

An Post raised the alarm following an internal audit which revealed that more than €1m was unaccounted for.

A 37-year-old man was this morning arrested in Gorey.

He is being questioned at Gorey garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí say that inquiries are ongoing.
