Gardaí continue murder inquiry in Dublin

A murder inquiry is continuing in West Dublin, after the shooting dead of a man yesterday morning.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out on the body of the 39-year-old, who has been named locally as father of two David Darcy.

Gardaí say he was not known to them, and detectives are working to establish a motive behind the shooting, which happened as Mr Darcy left his house to go to work at 7am.

Gardaí are seeking the public's assistance in tracing the movements of an stolen Opel Astra car, registration 99 CE 3047, found burnt out close to the scene of the shooting in Cherry Orchard.
