Irish Air-Corps completes long-haul mission

The Irish Air-Corps has completed a long-haul air ambulance mission to the United States.

Its Gulfstream jet has transferred a patient, their family and a specialist HSE team from Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel to Logan airport in Boston.

The aircraft arrived in Boston at 5.50pm Irish time this evening and the patient has since completed their journey to hospital by ambulance.

It was the Air Corp's 65th Air Ambulance mission this year.
