Appeal for information on Longford assault

Gardaí are appealing for information after a young woman was seriously assaulted in Co Longford.

The 18-year-old was attacked in a field at Tinnynarr in Edgeworthstown at about 10am on Wednesday morning.

She was treated for her injuries at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

Gardaí arrested a man in his 30s for questioning, but he has since been released without charge.
