Two more held in connection with Clondalkin killing

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in west Dublin in May.

The arrests bring to five the number of people being questioned about the killing of Dean Johnson, 20, on Moorfield Avenue, in Clondalkin, west Dublin.

The 27-year-old male and 25-year-old female were arrested in west Dublin earlier today.

They are in custody in Blanchardstown and Clondalkin Garda Stations under section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act.

The latest detentions follow the arrest yesterday of a 24-year-old woman, and the arrests on Monday of two men aged 33 and 26.

Those three are being held at Ballyfermot, Lucan and Ronanstown Garda Stations.

Johnson, a convicted drug dealer, was shot dead on May 25 in the back of a car just yards from his parents’ home.

A lone gunman fired around five shots at him as he sat in the rear seat of a red Volkswagen Golf.

Johnson lived on Moorfield Avenue with his mother and father and younger brother.
