Gardaí arrest four in connection with Louth post office raid
Gardaí investigating a post office raid in Co Louth three months ago have today made four arrests.
More than €500,000 was stolen during the robbery at Drogheda post office last August, during which the partner and child of a male worker at the branch were held hostage for a number of hours.
Investigating officers today searched a number of premises in the capital after which a woman and three men were arrested.
The four - who are all aged in their twenties and thirties - are being held at various garda stations in Dublin and Louth under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
They can be held for up to seven days without charge.
