Gardaí appeal for missing man amid Bandon murder investigation
Gardaí in Bandon are trying to track down the resident of a ground floor flat at the complex where 27-year-old Jonathan Duke was murdered at the weekend.
A post mortem on the body of Mr Duke confirmed he died a violent death.
Superintendent Eddie MacEoin said the missing man was last seen around Bandon some time in the region of 7pm on Saturday last.
Supt MacEoin said: "We don't know why he would have left, we don't know if he's a witness to what went on on Sunday night - we just don't know what happened to him.
"So we're trying to locate him now; we're treating his absence as a missing person at the moment.
"We're trying to contact his family in England and once we have done that then we will be able to release more details about him."
The body of the 27-year-old Bandon man, Jonathan Duke, was pulled from the river in the town late on Sunday night.
It is thought the father of one may have been assaulted at a flat complex before being thrown into the water.
Two people arrested on Sunday night will have to be either charged or released by gardaí this afternoon.
