Woman's body recovered from river in Cork city

A Naval Service Dive Team has recovered a woman's body from the River Lee in Cork city.

Gardaí called out the Naval Service at 11.35pm last night to Parliament Bridge in the city.

The woman's body was recovered at approximately 1am and her remains were brought to Cork University Hospital.

A woman was seen by witnesses falling into the river last night when the current was reported to be particularly strong.
