Woman dies after crash in Galway

Gardaí in Galway are investigating a road crash that killed a 19-year-old woman last night.

The woman, who was the only person in the car at the time, died when the car she was driving hit a ditch at Tonamaddy in Creggs at 10.20pm.

She was taken to University College Hospital Galway where she died from her injuries.

The road at the scene of the crash is closed for a forensic examination.
