Housing charity urges radical changes in rent supplement
Ireland's leading housing charity is calling for radical changes to rent supplement.
Respond has said the cost of the scheme has increased dramatically in the past number of years.
The association said it is an inefficient use of state resources, with private landlords benefiting most from the payment.
In its pre-budget submission released today, the charity is calling for rent supplement recipients to be transferred to more secure, long-term accommodation, after a period of six months.
