Post mortem due after body found in Ciaran Noonan search

A post mortem examination is to be carried out on a body of a man discovered in Co Meath last night.

The remains were found by gardaí investigating the abduction of 29-year-old Ciaran Noonan last month.

Garda forensic experts are examining the scene on the Dublin side of Trim where a body was recovered last night.

Searches of the area had been ongoing for the past number of days, after a priest was tipped off that the body of Ciaran Noonan had been dumped in a ditch in Meath.

The 29-year-old has been missing for over two weeks.

He was kidnapped in broad daylight on October 20 on Russell Avenue in Dublin's East Wall.

Searches began in the area last Monday. Last night, the body of a man was discovered in a ditch.

The body remains at the scene this evening pending the arrival of the State Pathologist.
