McAleese to attend festival in penultimate outing as president

Outgoing President Mary McAleese will attend the Wexford Opera Festival later this evening.

It is her second last public engagement, before she formally hands over the reins to the new President Michael D Higgins next Friday, November 11.

President McAleese will be a guest of honour tonight at the closing night performance of the opera 'Gianni di Parigi'.
