Man killed in Mayo cliff fall

A man has died after falling from a cliff in Co Mayo.

The victim, understood to be a tourist, lost his footing shortly after midday near Cloughmore village on Achill Island.

Poor weather conditions this evening in the area are hampering the efforts to retrieve the man's body.

The Sligo-based coastguard helicopter and the Achill Island RNLI lifeboat are involved in the recovery operation.
