Priory Hall residents given temporary accommodation

A number of residents of Priory Hall in Dublin are being provided with temporary accommodation today.

Dublin City Council is allocating 42 alternative properties to owner-occupiers. Most of the properties are in the control of NAMA.

The remaining residents who were forced to evacuate the apartment complex in Donaghmede last month over fire safety concerns will continue to stay in a nearby hotel.

Alan Kenny, who was renting a property at Priory Hall, said the city council was reneging on its commitment to re-house all those affected.

"It's absolutely disgraceful the way they're treating us. We've had the kids in the hotel room for the last two weeks…From one day to the other we don't know where we are," he said.
