Priory Hall residents plan protest march

Residents of North Dublin's Priory Hall will today get an opportunity to gauge public support for their campaign.

A protest march has been planned (beginning at 2pm) from Donaghmeade Shopping Centre, just down the road from the now-deserted complex, which has been deemed to be a fire hazard.

It is one week since some 240 residents were ordered to leave their homes, most of them temporarily relocating to hotels on Dublin's northside.

The city council said it had identified 37 empty housing units for the residents, after NAMA offered up properties in its portfolio.

Meanwhile, the High Court has been told that the first week of remedial works have been completed to the satisfaction of authorities.
