Gardaí renew appeal over Dublin kidnapping

Gardaí are renewing their appeal for information following the kidnapping of a man in Dublin last week.

Ciaran Noonan, 29, was last seen as he walked along Russell Avenue in East Wall last Thursday afternoon. He was beaten up and bundled into a car.

The father of one was known to gardaí and they believe he may have been kidnapped because of a drug debt.

Ciaran is described as being 5’ 8”, of medium build with short dark brown hair and brown eyes. When last seen he was wearing a light blue hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms and Converse runners.

Investigating officers would like to speak to any person who may have seen the Black VW Golf (reg: 05-D-88805) on Russell Avenue at 4.30pm on the day in question.

Gardaí are seeking to establish the movements of the car between the kidnapping and it being parked at the underground car park at the Killegland apartment complex in Ashbourne, Co Meath at 8pm on Thursday last.

"We have serious concerns for Ciaran’s welfare and safety and along with his family are appealing for people to come forward and assist in this investigation," said Superintendent Frank Clerkin, who is leading this investigation, speaking in Store Street today.
