Presidential candidates turn on Gallagher in TG4 debate
Presidential candidates return to the campaign trail this morning after last night's televised bi-lingual debate on TG4.
The debate saw a number of attacks on frontrunner Sean Gallagher who came under pressure over his role in Fianna Fáil.
The candidates also spoke on the future of the Irish language and gave their thoughts on the celebrations for the anniversary of 1916.
On the subject of Amhran na bhFiann, only Michael D. Higgins and Independent Sean Gallagher expressed a dissatisfaction with the anthem.
Sean Gallagher said he would like to see a new anthem to reflect a new Ireland.
