Dana expected back on canvass trail

Dana Rosemary Scallon is expected to be canvassing in the Galway area today as she re-enters the race to be the next President.

The Independent candidate confirmed last night that she would not withdraw from the race, despite the ongoing controversy involving her family.

Meanwhile, Independent candidate David Norris will launch his online fundraising campaign in Dublin today and Labour candidate Michael D Higgins will also be canvassing in Dublin.

Later all of the presidential hopefuls apart from Dana, will debate issues with 200 young people at the Dublin Contemporary exhibition.

CEO of Dublin Contemporary Susan Kirby said the candidates would have to explain how they could improve the lives of Ireland's young people.
