Govt considering 'axing teachers pay for supervision'
A job perk for teachers could be coming to an end.
As the Budget looms and the Government seeks to make at least €3.6bn worth of cuts, payments made to teachers for supervision and substitution duties are being examined.
Employment specialist with Align Management Solutions Gerry Flynn has said the payments costs the state around €200m a year, but he said teachers will not react well to any moves to cut them.
