Taoiseach to meet EC President in Brussels

Taoiseach Enda Kenny is to travel to Brussels today to meet with the President of the European Commission.

The talks with José Manuel Barroso come ahead of the meeting of the European Council and of the Heads of State from the Euro area on October 23.

Mr Kenny and Mr Barroso are expected to discuss what needs to be done to tackle the economic crisis in a "comprehensive, balanced and credible way", including identifying means to generate jobs and growth.
