Roscommon fire: Gardaí arrest woman in 50s
Gardaí investigating a fatal Roscommon which claimed the life of five-year-old Mari Connolly-Keane have arrested a woman in her 50s.
Mari was buried yesterday. Her father Richard and two sisters Lauren (8) and Naomi (6) escaped the fire, but her father suffered serious spinal injuries in a fall while trying to rescue his daughters.
At the time of the fire in Boyle on October 3, Mari's mother Teresa was in hospital, having just given birth to twins.
The woman who was arrested today is being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939, at Boyle garda station.
A man in his 30s remains in custody at the station.
