Businessman and restaurant owner Jay Bourke has told the Commercial Court he has been ruthlessly pursued by ACC Bank over a €1m debt.

Businessman and restaurant owner Jay Bourke has told the Commercial Court he has been ruthlessly pursued by ACC Bank over a €1m debt.

At one point in the hearing, the man behind Eden and the Shebeen Chic bar in Dublin said the bank had shown no compassion, adding: "I wouldn't mind a break here…This is actually becoming ridiculous."

He has been told to hand over a sworn statement of his means to the bank, as has businessman Eoin Foyle. Both men owe ACC money arising from loans relating to the Skylab building in Dublin.

Judge Peter Kelly said that while it may not be much of a break, he would not make any order for costs.
