Davis: 'I acted with integrity in all BCI meetings'

Independent presidential candidate Mary Davis has said she acted with "total integrity" while on the board of the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI).

She has rejected any suggestion that there may have been a conflict of interest involving businessman Denis O'Brien.

Ms Davis was chief executive of Special Olympics Ireland while Mr O'Brien was chairman of the organising committee of the Dublin World Games.

Mary Davis - who is campaigning in Cork - insists she acted appropriately at all times.

Ms Davis said that, while she served with Special Olympics Ireland as a paid member of staff, she did not take part in BCI board meetings when any issues came up in relation to Denis O'Brien.

Once she left Special Olympics Ireland, and became managing director of Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia, she said she acted with integrity in all meetings.
