Over 40,000 residents and businesses in north Dublin can expect water disruption over the next two days.

Fingal County Council is carrying out essential maintenance work on watermains.

The work will be carried out between now and midnight on Sunday.

Areas most at risk include Ridgewood, Boroimhe, Cloghran, Turnapin, Killeek and St. Margaret's.

Other areas that may be affected are Baskin, Clonshaugh, Balgriffin,Baldoyle, Sutton, Howth and Santry.

Static tankers will be provided in the areas most at risk.

The council said every effort will be made to complete the works in the shortest time possible to minimise disruption.

"We apologise sincerely in advance for the inconvenience caused to consumers by this unavoidable disruption to service," the council said.
