Norris slams drinking stories as 'load of rubbish'

Independent Presidential candidate David Norris has described some of the stories written about him in newspapers as "a load of rubbish".

Two tabloids ran seperate stories this morning seperately raising questions about the Senator's eyesight and his drinking.

Senator Norris dismissed both and said issues like those are not being raised by the public on the campaign.

Mr Norris said: "These stories are treated as what they are - a load of rubbish and I haven't had one person raise those questions.

"Now one of them said I had a booze problem. Do I look as if I was drunk? Do I sound drunk? Do I sound to you as if I have a hangover? I don't think so."
